who is George Washington?George Washington was born on February 22, 1732, in Westmoreland County, Virginia. George Washington was the first elected president for the United States of America. He served from 1789 to 1797. In 1753, when Washington’s military experience began, the governor sent him to warn French troops stationed north of the forks of the Ohio River, that they were intruding on territory claimed by Virginia. The French basically ignored Washington, and the mission failed. Washington went through many battles during his military experience, and he was an intermediate leader, but he had a great ability that would soon be seen by others .

"His mind was great and powerful, without being of the very first order; his penetration strong....He was incapable of fear, meeting personal dangers with the calmest unconcern."
- Thomas Jefferson
People were admiring him as a person to look forward to in the future as the their leader because Washington had the ability to learn and take command of his fellow troops. Plus Washington had no fear of do anything because war was not a problem to him.
